In the beginning, the shop was built in Lightspeed. But as the business was growing so extremely fast and the order volume grew (especially on seasonal peaks such as Black Friday), they knew that they needed a new platform to fit their growth and ambitious goals. With their eye on Magento (now known as Adobe Commerce), they contacted Youwe to help them out. Together we realized this new future-proof shop. The eCommerce shop didn’t only need to be a great fit for the high order volume, but also for cross-border growth. Also, it needed to be integrated with their custom build integration platform and the Product Information Management solution Akeneo.
Magento is a market leader in the area of eCommerce software. Magento eCommerce is an open-source multishop platform. One in four online shops worldwide is built on a Magento platform. The stable application framework, paired with excellent possibilities for integration and strong marketing tools made Magento the perfect platform for Smartphonehoesjes.nl.
Cross border growth
After a successful start in the Netherlands, the idea started to conquer the market in other countries. First up was the German market. They have been active in Germany since 2017 and are continuing to grow. At Smartphonehoesjes.nl they are very ambitious and have the goal to grow further, that is why they launched the website in France at the beginning of 2020. Together with Smartphonehoesjes Youwe build the Dutch, German, French, Spanish, Italian and business Magento 2 shops see www.smartphonehoesjes.nl, www.coquedetelephone.fr, www.handyhuellen.de, www.smartphonecover.it, and www.fundasdemovil.es. At the moment, we are creating storefronts for other European countries in combination with Amazon.
